So much for my planning to write this post before evening – I’ve failed miserably tonight. I even thought “I wonder if anyone would miss one night without any dingbats?” But then I realised rugby is on tomorrow night and I just may not post Sunday night.
It will be the first time in many years that our little group of “rugby fans” won’t be gathering together for dinner and then watch the All Blacks play. Guess I’ll either have to listen to the game on the radio and/or watch the delayed TV broadcast – better than nothing. Go the All Blacks!
What a fabulous day to be out and about on the bike checking my neighbourhood. There was a chill in the air and a cool head-wind on my return home. Didn’t plan that very well – I mean riding home in a head-wind. Cyclists always try to have a tail-wind when riding home cose that is when they are tired.
While having a take-away coffee I meet another couple of cyclists who originally came from South Africa – Stefan & Sandra. They’ve recently shifted to Kihikihi from Auckland and just starting to explore their rural neighbourhood on their bikes. We chatted and discussed many issues, mainly relating to cycling. They did mention a couple of times about how pleased they are to be living here in New Zealand in such a safe and beautiful place. They felt many New Zealanders don’t realise how lucky they are to be living here. Couldn’t agree more with them. It was a nice interlude to have some face-to-face communication and then we started our return journey home in opposite directions.
After my “power nap” this afternoon I finally cut my Buxus hedge and must say how nice it looks. I wonder how you filled in your day today?
Mindfulness
Setting myself a goal of posting neighbourhood scenes each day makes me be much more aware of my surroundings and the little things that may make an interesting photograph. I guess it is what is called “mindfulness” – being in the present. It makes me observe my current environment and I’ve noticed time and distance soon fly by. What are your views about mindfulness?
Patricia’s pasta recipe
Carly has made your dish Patricia and said what a success it was and the boyfriend agreed. I keep meaning to make it – just need to get the cream.
Dingbats
If it’s any consolation to you not many people get all the dingbats correct. Tonight’s dingbats relate to Christmas.

Will miss our dinner rugby get -togethers. We can txt but then that would give you a pre warning of the results.
I tackled the wisteria pruning yesterday. Should have photographed the piles of mess / didn’t. It meant ladder climbing and removing about 80% of the branches/ wayward suckers heading skywards and many dead bits. Satisfying when finished but not much left. However wisterias don’t seem to mind.
Still have a few seratta (mountain) hydrangeas to finish prune. They each take a while with so many spindly branches. But the flower show is worth the effort.

I will miss your post tomorrow morning if you don’t put one up tonight Heather. You could write it while waiting for the delayed game🤔

Thank you Susan for your feedback. It was your comments that made me post on the Sunday night! There is no way I could listen to rugby and write at the same time. 🙂
