No cycling today, decided to spend the day at home catching up on long overdue jobs. Tonight I’m feeling very pleased with myself. My windows are looking sparkly, the weatherboards are clean, the eaves are white again and cobweb free (for the time being), the water filter is cleaned, and other little jobs around my home are done. What a satisfying feeling – thought I deserved a little wine tonight – it’s been a big day!! What have you been up to, besides posting comments on my blog? Thank you for contributing and taking the time to respond.
Wonderful news
My morning started off with the wonderful news that I’m a great aunt again. Congratulations to my niece Charlotte and her husband Josh on the arrival of their baby boy, born in the early hours of this morning, all doing well. Welcome to grand-parent status Brian and Alison. A special time for you all.
Lunch
Yesterday I mentioned I had ordered two croissants from Volare. Today’s lunch was all that I’d imagined it would be. The croissant was slightly warmed, spread with avocado, then fried bacon, topped with an egg, and dusted with black pepper. It tasted soo good, more so because I’d been outside washing my house, and sweeping the drive way – so I had a healthy appetite.
Spouts
When I feel spring in the air I have this desire to start sprouting a variety of beans again. I’ve got mung and adzuki beans on the top level and chickpeas underneath. They’re progressing well and were delicious is my salad tonight. They are so nutritious and easy to grow. If you grow them, what seeds or beans do you use?
Dingbats
Are you finding these dingbats easier?

I must say that your posts inspire me to get going. Have been watching the wheel chair racing this afternoon and it reminds me of the first Iron Man race in Taupo. A wheelchair person competed, he was disqualified just minutes before the second cut off time but continued on to complete his Iron Man challenge. It was late at night, and I think the whole of Taupo waited along the road and at finish line to see him cross the finish line.
Your community photos challenges me to get out y camera. I thought about it yesterday, I saw a dad any his kids sitting on the footpath drawing with coloured chalks. It was a lovely image.

Thank you Virginia. Great to hear from you. Yes please, take some photographs and send them to me. Yes Paralympics are very inspiring. 🙂

Was just about to head out on my bike when the rain started so as I am only a fair weather rider, I am now checking e-mails and waiting for the rain to pass before I try again. I started my worm farm this morning so feel very pleased to have at least accomplished something already today. I could not find too many worms in my flower garden but the compose Tony has for the vegetable garden was loaded so I borrowed some of his. Looking forward to getting some worm pee eventually. I managed 2 of the Dingbats today without cheating, great for me. Great news for the new grandparents and all the family, hopefully they can all be in the same bubble to enjoy the new addition.

Thanks ‘Carly of Tamahere”. I never saw or got caught in any rain, probably just as well as I’m not sure I would have gone out! I’m looking forward to hearing and seeing the results of your worm farm. I struggle with the dingbats also, some are obvious, others not so obvious eh! 🙂

Mung beans are the best! And some alfalfa.
Got stumped on the dingbats.
Finally been out riding 3 days in a row…

Thank you Maureen. Well done with your riding – where do you ride? Do you grow your own mung beans and Alfalfa? 🙂
